Rice University Applied Physics Graduate Program Outreach
This Friday, October 27th during free hour (12 pm-1 pm), UMBC will be visited by UMBC Alumni Mansoor Shehzad, from Rice University's Smalley Curl Institute. If you are trying to figure out where you might want to study physics in Graduate School, Mansoor will be here to talk about this really cool program to apply to: the Rice University Applied Physics Graduate Program https://appliedphysics.rice.edu/
The program does research in fields such as advanced materials, quantum magnetism, plasmonics and photonics, biophysics and bioengineering ultracold atom physics, condensed matter and chemical physics, complex fluids, liquids, and polymers, and all aspects of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Just to name a few.
If you have any prior questions about this program you would like to have addressed before our representative arrives, please place them in this form.https://forms.gle/Dai6bD2rPeToZZAk6
This outreach session will occur October 27th, from 12 pm-1 pm, in PHYS 221! If you are still thinking about places to apply for graduate school, I highly recommend attending this seminar as there is so much you can do in applied physics in this graduate program!
