As schools and workplaces re-open, many of us are headed back to business, with or without Assistive Technology. This session will explore a variety of Assistive Technologies (AT) that are available for Deaf/Hard of Hearing individuals, including visual alert systems, cell and landline phone systems, hearing amplification devices, and more! We'll explore ways to integrate AT with your current technologies (like turning on captioning in virtual meetings), and much more! We'll also cover the who, what, and how of the Maryland AT Program and Maryland Accessible Telecommunications - two vital technology programs for Marylanders with disabilities.
Webinar is hosted via Zoom by Maryland Department of Disabilities Assistive Technology Department. Any UMBC community member (students, faculty, staff) may attend. Click on the ticket button to register.
Many of these options are in place at UMBC via accessible design and the accommodation process. All UMBC students with disabilities - undergrad and grad, full-time and part-time may register online with Student Disability Services (link). Similarly, faculty, staff and student-employees with health conditions that qualify as disabilities may request work-related accommodations from Accessibility & Disability Services.

All events, groups, organizations, and centers are open for full participation by all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or any other protected category under applicable federal law, state law, and the University's nondiscrimination policy.
