Please
plan to join us on November 11th from 10:30 AM - 12 Noon for an
exciting collaborative allied sports event hosted by UMBC's
Athletics & Recreation Department, the Office of Accessibility &
Disability Services, and our community partner League of Dreams!
Local
students involved with the League of Dreams organization will be
visiting our campus to engage in baseball, softball, and soccer games in
the RAC alongside our own UMBC students and student-athletes both with
and without disabilities for a day of inclusive fun for all ages. We
encourage our UMBC students with disabilities to join in on the sports
activities or just come and support your peers and cheer on our visiting
guests- all are welcome! Details about the event will be posted on the
UMBC recreation site and their social media platforms.
League of Dreams is
a non-profit organization dedicated to providing all individuals,
regardless of physical or mental capacity, the opportunity to experience
the joy, challenges, and personal growth of playing the great games of
baseball and softball. The
League of Dreams provides a place where participants can take the
field, enjoy the game of softball or baseball, believe in themselves,
and walk away empowered. By bringing together people of all abilities,
friendships are formed based on understanding, sensitivity, and trust.
