Before the first buildings appeared on UMBC's campus, Spring Grove Hospital patients tended the surrounding farmlands. In 1966, UMBC opened its doors with just three buildings, 45 professors, and wooden sidewalks. Join us on a virtual walking tour to explore how UMBC has transformed into a thriving campus, and experience the history, innovative art and architecture that defines the university today.
