The field of engineering has helped solve some of society’s greatest challenges. As society continues to evolve in the 21st Century, it is critical that engineers think and act inclusively and equitably, while offering technological solutions that both recognize and consider the full diversity of humanity.
This talk explores how industry leaders can champion and implement meaningful changes that ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE/I) in the technical fields.
UMBC’s graduate Professional Engineering Programs (PEP) initiatives will be showcased. The PEP initiatives offer concrete examples and insights that provide a more in-depth understanding of DE/I within the area of technical management and technological development contexts.
