Sunday, October 20, 2013 · 10 AM - 2 PM
On Campus
Collaborative service project with the Environmental Task Force, Students for Environmental Awareness, Geography and Environmental Systems Council of Majors.
The Trash Monster is a sculpture crafted from found materials and litter during a campus clean up. The Trash Monster will be on display to raise awareness on the issues relating to waste.
The project will take place on the 20th from 10am-2pm. The campus groundskeeping will provide trash bags, gloves, and trash picks. The participants will be separated into teams. The teams will go out and clean up their section of Herbert's Run/Pig Pen Pond. The teams will then be given the opportunity to build a trash monster out of their gathered materials, to be put on display outside the Commons the week of the Harvest Fest. GESCoM and SEA will have their own table at the Harvest Fest which will follow up on the issue the of waste, and the importance of recycling.
Please use the following link to sign up in advance (this will help get an idea of how much supplies are needed). Registered participants will be emailed with more information on Friday.
