On Campus
Tree Planting Service Activity:
Wed April 23rd, 3PM | Walker Avenue Garage
Join Facilities Management, Professional Staff Senate, UMBC's Sustainability Coordinator, and Parks and People Foundation for this service activity.
Ashe Smith from Parks and People will train volunteers on tree planting. The plan is to plant around 10 or less native trees or north side of the Walker Garage. Each team will have 1 to 2 trees to plant. The holes will be pre-dug, and tree holes will need to be prepared properly, trees planted, staked and mulched by the volunteers .
There are other opportunities to perform maintenance on past arbor day trees if any group is interested. The recently planted trees beside Commons Garage will need to be weeded, mulched and staked. If anyone is interested in arranging on campus service activities relating to landscape, ground or recycling contact Donna Anderson at dleak@umbc.edu
