What is the “Trash on Your Back Challenge”?

A challenge to observe and showcase how much trash you create in one week- and to feel the weight of it while sparking learning and dialogue about sustainability.

How we are creating sustainable change:

Showcasing how much each student throws away during the week- educating ourselves and others about how our actions add up. Spark conversations about how much trash we create- how many natural resources we consume just to toss into a landfill. To encourage sustainable thinking and action.

Why take the challenge?

Help spread awareness on the issues of waste, consumption, and sustainability. Student Organizations are recommended to create a UMBC GiveCorps profile to raise money and awareness for their own student organizations. Challenge your family and friends to sponsor and support you in the Trash on Your Back challenge!
