The purpose is to raise awareness, excitement and motivation for students to reduce waste, recycle, compost and reuse materials that people normally throw away in a creative fashion.

Student orgs are invited to have an informational activity table to raise awarenss about their organization, sustainability, and offer a fun activity such as recycled crafts, recycling trivia, or a recycling toss! Here are more examples: https://recyclemania.org/resources/activity-ideas/

The Costume Party will feature a fashion show featuring UMBC student models and recycled costumes! Sign up below as a student teams or as an organization. Each team will design a costume created from recycled items for the fashion show and have a model from their team featured in the fashion show.

6-7pm: Talent showcase: dance, poetry, & musical performances from UMBC groups & individuals 

7-8pm: Student Designed & Models Recycled Fashion show: with live music from Conor Brendan and the Wild Hunt! 

8-9pm: Drum Circle & dance party on the dance floor after a short talk with Professor Upcycle,Steven McAlpine & Straight Up Tribal- recycled drums with instruments will be on hand for you to join in! 

ALL NIGHT: 

• Dance floor, food, #umbcrecycles photobooth
• DIY recycled drafts (paper flower corsages, recycled masquerade masks, and more! 
• Clothing swap- drop off or shop for free clothes!
