Dear UMBC Students,
You are invited to join the discussion, ask questions about how generative AI can support your academic work—responsibly and effectively? We invite you to join us for a session designed to help students move from AI basics to thoughtful, ethical, and practical use.
This session is led by UMBC's Generative AI and Pedagogy Fellow and features guest speaker Dr. John Schumacher, who will give a talk on Generative AI Skills for Students - From Basics to Responsible, Effective Use, and how undergraduate and graduate students can use generative AI to support learning, writing, studying, and research—while staying aligned with academic expectations.
The meeting will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 12 noon in the Learning Collaboratory, Room 115, in the University Center (UC). Program Directors, please share with your students!
We hope you can join us!
Sincerely,
The College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences
