“Without a good presentation, you are just another person with data and an opinion.” ~Pierre Goetz
“Your job is to make the audience care.” ~Alex Merry
How do you know if you are giving a "good" presentation or just presenting data and an opinion? You care enough about what the audience wants and, better yet, needs to know that you engage with them and bring them along on your journey.
Being able to give successful presentations is an important skill to have in one’s professional and personal life. Employees who are able to deliver effective presentations are an asset as they will gain confidence and have better communication skills. Learning how to deliver good presentations can boost confidence, self-esteem, and improve professional development opportunities.
Participants in this session will gain the confidence that their presentations are clear, engaging, effective, and are worth listening to.
Join Melody Wright, of the Talent Learning and Organizational Development department, as we:
- Identify the elements of a good presentation
- Identify what should be avoided in order to deliver a great presentation
- Evaluate the attributes of a good presenter
- Develop clear objectives for a presentation
- Structure a presentation in a logical and clear way
- Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of body language and voice in delivering a presentation
- Use visual aids effectively
Look for a part II that will include hands on practice in preparing and practicing a presentation!
