Personal Branding, Networking & Influence
What do people know about you and how did they learn it?
Thursday, April 2, 2026 · 9 - 11 AM
(Canceled)
Canceled: will be run the week of April 20th. More information to come.
We have all heard that we need to have an elevator speech ready to answer the question “what do you do?”, but many of us find it hard in the moment to articulate what we do in a sound bite.
Let’s think instead of creating our own personal brand; something that we will be known for. Then let’s go beyond the standard ideas of networking and explore ways to become involved in our work communities. Finally, we will explore ways in which we can all be influential. Everyone has influence, whether we recognize it as such, so let’s tap into those influence pathways to stand out from the crowd and further our career.
Upon completion of this workshop participants should be able to:
- Identify strategies to stand out in the workplace.
- Develop a personal branding/value statement.
- Explore opportunities in your current position.
- Explore networking opportunities on our campus and in our communities.
- Develop strategies for advocating/negotiating for ourselves and influence how others see us.
