Work-Life Balance Learning Lab Sessions
Monday, September 26, 2016 · 12 - 1 PM
"Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life." Dolly Parton
In this 4-part brown bag session, we will re-define work-life balance, determining new ways to consciously manage our time, our thoughts, and our actions and our ability to be effective while moving through different domains of life. Each week participants will practice strategies for increasing quality of life, resilience, and personal effectiveness.
Participants will also learn engagement strategies for having the important, yet sometimes difficult conversations needed for achieving work-life balance. Over the course of the program, we will be referring to "The Sweet Spot: How to Find Your Groove at Home and Work" by Dr. Christine Carter. Each participant will receive a copy of the book at the first session.
Sessions will be facilitated by Assistant Vice Provost for Academic Affairs (and board certified coach), Beth Wells, and by Manager of Workplace Learning & Wellness (and coach of 13 years), Jill Weinknecht Wardell.
Due to the nature of this course, space is limited to 20 participants and registration assumes attendance at all 4 sessions (on 9/26, 10/24, 11/28, and 12/12), each from 12-1 p.m. in Administration Building, Room 711. If you know in advance you will need to miss more than 1 session, please join us for a future series.
This event is now full. To be added to the waiting list, please email Jessica McMurtrie at jmcmurt@umbc.edu.
