Part 1: Personal Branding & Verbal Communication Excellence
Thursday, February 8, 2018 · 9 - 11 AM
When we think of branding, most of us think of applications for businesses and entrepreneurs who sell products and services. However, as higher education professionals, we are constantly shaping our own personal brand every day via our behavior, communication (both verbal & non-verbal) style, mindset, and influence. How we communicate impacts our stakeholder audience (managers, co-workers, peers, and customers) and our future career prospects. Professionals who are serious about their careers are aware of the connection between their communication and their results and are constantly adapting their style to serve the intended purpose.
Join us in this 2-part interactive boot camp to explore ways to sharpen your personal branding saw and enhance your communication skills.
You may register for either OR both of the two-hour sessions. Participants who complete both sessions will receive a digital badge that can be shared via social media outlets.
Session I: Personal Branding & Verbal Communication Excellence
This course explores the impact commercial brands have had on us as consumers and then considers the impact our (conscious and/or unconscious) personal brand has had on our personal and professional success. It starts by thinking about our reputation in the work environment so as to better manage perceptions, increase credibility, influence and opportunities that align with desired career goals.
As a participant in this interactive session, you will learn how to:
- identify your personal brand,
- incorporate your brand into your communication style, and
- create powerful and influential verbal and non-verbal exchanges with stakeholders that increase your impact and influence.
Participants in both sessions will leave having created a personal branding statement that can be used as their personal north star vision for engaging in powerful communication.
