Group 2 Title IX Training for Responsible Employees
We are offering Mandatory Title IX/Sexual Misconduct Prevention Training for all UMBC employees in three training groups:
- Group 1 - December 6, 2018
- Group 2 - January 16, 17, 22, and 23, 2019
- Group 3 - May 20 and 21, 2019
It is important that you sign up for one (1) session in the group you belong to. You can find your group number in the personal email you received about the training. Please check your group number and sign up for a session in the group you belong to.
You must be logged in to myUMBC to be able to register for training.
In order to register, you must click the 'Going' button under the 'Attendee' section. Please note that you will only see this section if you are logged in. This is the crucial step that's needed to complete the registration process.

The educational session will address the following topics:
- Fostering an educational environment free from discrimination and harassment
- Promoting a safer, more caring environment for all members of the UMBC community
- Understanding the history and context of Title IX and the Clery Act
- Understanding University policies and procedures for reporting, investigating and responding to sexual and gender-based harassment and violence
- Understanding campus and community resources to support reporting parties and responding parties.
- Understanding the difference between confidential resources and reporting options on campus and in the community
- Identifying, preventing and responding to sexual and gender-based harassment, discrimination and violence, dating and domestic violence, and stalking
- Understanding your role as a University employee: reporting, leaning in, and leading
- Responding effectively to individuals who disclose that they have experienced sexual violence
