Café Conversations
Building Effective Supervisory Relationships
Would you like to feel more comfortable in your role as a supervisor?
Are you interested in learning techniques to help you design more effective conversations?
Curious about ways to increase engagement, foster connection, and enhance performance?
If your answer is ‘yes’ to any of the above questions, we invite you to join us in this conversation-style program just for supervisors! This 5- session journey will expand your mindset and skillset as it relates to influential and effective supervision. In these 5 sessions, 5 core supervisory capacities will be explored: Building Rapport, Effective Communication, Active Listening, Providing Feedback, and Documentation.
This facilitative program will be customized based on the unique needs of the participants in the cohort. While each session explores a single core supervisory capacity, participants will be able to choose among a list of related subtopics which they would like to focus on in the time allowed, providing a unique, tailored framework for the discussion. Woven in will be a mix of models, experiential activities, thought-provoking questions, best practices, and action step planning, as well as space for instructor and peer coaching.
This learning laboratory is a perfect opportunity for both new supervisors as well as seasoned supervisors who want to learn, grow, and share.
Participants are required to attend all 5 sessions offered every other month:
- October 15th, December 17th, February 18th, April 21st, and June 16th
- Each session is offered from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Once you register for this session, please place each date on your
