Dear Retrievers and Valued Transit Riders,
Following our previous communication and continued assessment of road and weather conditions, UMBC Transit will remain closed on Wednesday, January 28th to ensure the safety of our riders and operators.
Our team will continue to closely monitor conditions throughout the day and into Wednesday. Updates regarding the resumption of service, including start times and route operations, will be shared as soon as it is safe to do so.
Your safety remains our top priority, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate the impacts of this winter weather event.
We encourage you to stay informed by checking:
- The UMBC website and official university communication channels
- The Inclement Weather and Emergency Closing Guide
- The campus status hotline at 410-455-6789
Winter Weather Transit Tips:
- Avoid unnecessary travel during severe conditions and follow local advisories
- Use caution on snow- and ice-covered sidewalks and roadways
- Allow extra time for travel once service resumes
If you have questions or need assistance, please contact us at 410-455-2454 or transit@umbc.edu.
Stay safe and warm!
