Mr. Marty Link is a devout Catholic, husband and father and has Bachelor degrees in Theology and Marketing from the Franciscan University of Steubenville, OH. He has spent years in professional ministry to young people, serving them by bringing a deeper understanding of the faith and greater courage to live it out in love.
Every Tuesday in the Interfaith Center from 7:30pm to 8:30pm, Marty will be leading a study group to dive into not only the "what" of the Catholic Church, but most importantly the "why". It is one thing to know that the Church teaches and practices something, but we are always called to go deeper into the principles behind the teaching and practice. The study of theology is precisely how to do this!
In this Study Group, participants will look not only to the life and writings of Bl. John Paul II, but look into other great teachers in the Church - the Saints and Doctors who offer to bring our faith to that deeper level of understanding.
Because the questions of anthropology and sexuality are so pressing, the Study Group will begin with a look at John Paul II's masterpiece - the Theology of the Body. The Group will read selections from the work, then discuss the contents for clarity, reflection, and application.
All are welcome to come. Please RSVP so we can provide materials for everyone. (If you don't RSVP, you can still come, but it would be nice to know so we can give you a book).
Many blessings to all of you, and may the Lord bless this group with wisdom, understanding and deepened faith!
In Christ,
Fr. John
