The Elephant in the Room: Listening, Speaking and Hearing

The Statement of Solidarity shared by UMBC June 20 begins "During this time in America, each of us is faced with the challenge of understanding our position in society and our role in dismantling structural racism." The Erickson School of Aging Studies affirms this position with a call to action for students and colleagues in Aging Services to create, take, and pursue opportunities that tear down structural inequities within our society. 

UMBC President Freeman Hrabowski and Erickson School Dean Dana Bradley invite you to attend "The Elephant in the Room: Listening, Speaking and Hearing." Please join us to begin a journey to address systemic racism, diversity, and inclusion in the longevity economy.

In this online format, panelists will share their perspectives and respond to questions from participants. After attending this event, participants will be more aware individuals with a greater understanding of the importance of addressing systemic racism, diversity, and inclusion in the longevity economy and the listening and speaking skills to be more effective leaders in the field.
