Hello, CyberDawgs!
We're back for the second meeting of the semester! Once again, it'll be from 7:15-8:15pm in the Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building (ILSB) Room 116A. And even if you can't make it in person, you can join virtually via Webex: https://umbc-students.webex.com/meet/CyberDawgs. A guest presenter, Rob Shovan, will come to give a lecture on Process Injection Techniques for Windows - don't miss it!
Interested in Capture the Flag competitions? Then you'll love the one hosted by the CyberDawgs, DawgCTF! You can sign up for the in-person event here: https://forms.gle/LQDr6oqvsgx7U7Ha7 or learn more at our website: https://dawgsec.com/dawgctf. There will be challenges at all experience levels, so whether you're an expert or this is your first CTF, it'll be fun and you'll learn a lot - and maybe even win some prizes 👀.
Can't wait until DawgCTF to start solving challenges? Every Monday, after the club meeting we release a CyberPaws CTF challenge on the club Discord (under the CyberPaws CTF catagory, in the #challenge-release channel). There's a mix of different challenges so you'll be sure to find something that interests you. Didn't solve the week's puzzle? That's okay! We go over the challenge of the previous week during the Monday meetings.
Think you're ready to test your cyber knowledge? Come to Hacker Trivia night on March 2nd to join teams with other club members and answer questions from a wide variety of cyber-related trivia catagories.
Questions? Concerns? Compliments? Don’t hesitate to reach out to the board by Discord, email, pigeon, or Matrix - we'll all be happy to help!
Stay Cool,
Hamza Nasher-Alneam
Cyberdawgs Secretary
