Today’s meeting topic is - How to win DawgCTF! As usual, it’ll be from 7:15-8:15pm in the Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building (ILSB) Room 116A
DawgCTF is our yearly Capture the Flag (CTF) cybersecurity competition, open to competitors of all levels. This meeting will focus on the tools used for different CTF categories, and it’ll include talks by
-> Alex Henning, on Wireshark for packet sniffing and analysis,
-> Gabriela, on Audacity for working with audio files,
-> Charles, on binwalk for analyzing binaries,
-> and Dipa, on the Firefox devtools for web challenges.
If you’re new to CTFs and not sure where to start, you’ve got to attend this meeting! If you can’t make it in person, join online through Webex: https://umbc-students.webex.com/meet/CyberDawgs.
DawgCTF is happening in April, to learn more check out the website and don’t forget to sign up to attend in-person with this Google Form.
Interested in Windows security? Make sure to attend tomorrow’s Technical Workshop on Windows Active Directory! Spencer will be covering Registry Editor and common vulnerabilities in the program in PAHB 108, from 7:15-8:15.
