Hello Cyberdawgs!
Today we'll be meeting once again at the usual time from 7:15-8:15pm in the Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building (ILSB) Room 116A. Chris Vatcher will be coming from Lockheed Martin to give a special lecture on building personal firewalls. If you can't make it in-person, join through the Webex: https://umbc-students.webex.com/meet/CyberDawgs.
Interested in Capture the Flag competitions? Then you'll love our upcoming CTF happening this April, DawgCTF! You can sign up for the in-person event here: https://forms.gle/LQDr6oqvsgx7U7Ha7 or learn more at our website: https://umbccd.umbc.edu/dawgctf. There will be challenges at all experience levels, so whether you're an expert or this is your first CTF, it'll be fun and you'll learn a lot - and maybe even win some prizes. Make sure you add it to your calendar!
Interested in Linux security? Make sure to attend tomorrow’s Technical Workshop on Linux Baselining! Hamza will be presenting on how to compare a clean system to one that has been compromised to find vulnerabilities, with a live example, in PAHB 108, from 7:15-8:15.
Questions? Concerns? Compliments? Don’t hesitate to reach out to the board by Discord, email, or Blackboard - we’re all happy to help!
Stay Cool,
Hamza Nasher-Alneam
