Welcome to UMBC Crew. For over 20 years, we have bought the spirit and sport of rowing to students of UMBC. Rowing is an intense sport that requires dedication and willpower. We teach you the basics of rowing while keeping you in shape.
We practice in the RAC for the first few weeks of each semester. We then carpool to the Baltimore Rowing Club on the Patapsco River.
Conditioning starts on the first few weeks of the semester, Monday-Thursday from 5-7 AM. That's 8 hours every week, not including extra practices during the weekend and workouts throughout the week. We dedicate ourselves in sharpening our skills and technique to compete against schools like Loyola, Duke, and Princeton.
You don't need to have previous rowing experience! Almost all of our members have never rowed before college. We teach you what you need to know before you get on a boat.
