The Social Justice Fellowship is a partnership between the Elijah Cummings Youth Program (ECYP) and the Baltimore Jewish Council (BJC). Predominantly non-Jewish African American 12th graders from ECYP join with predominantly Jewish 10th through 12th graders to explore social justice concepts from the lenses of these two communities. Working with Aaron Henkin from WYPR, the Teen Fellows meet once a month for workshops, trainings, discussions, and activities, as well as work in small groups to create a social justice podcast. This is the sixth year
of the Teen Fellowship and the third year that they will produce a podcast.
Fellowship responsibilities:
• Support Teen Fellow understanding of podcast topic selection
• Manage session group dynamic, and ensure group stays on task
• Create positive, equitable, and encouraging environment for session group
• Help Teen Fellows create their podcast
• Edit podcast
