With the start of Rosh Hashanah tonight, the UMBC Hillel mishpacha (family) wishes everyone shana tova u'metuka—a happy and sweet new year!
Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish new year! The holiday starts starts tonight, September 22, at sundown and ends Wednesday, September 24 at nightfall. During this time, Jewish students often spend time with family—birth or chosen—and attend festive meals and religious services. Those traditionally observant may not write, use electronics, drive, or partake in other certain activities during these days. We thank the community for their support and accommodation as we celebrate the new year!
