- Each STAR participant must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident who has completed one college level mathematics and one college level science series (Freshman level); with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. **Preferred candidates for positions will also have 2 or 3 quarters, mentored experience in a biomedical/biobehavioral laboratory.
- According to each individual’s background, laboratory participants will receive a mentored laboratory experience
- Each participant will receive up to $5500 for the summer experience (paid in installments), round-trip travel funds are available to out-of- area students, who meet criteria
- Program dates are either:
1. June 18 through August 17, 2012: Semester system school
2. June 18 through September 7, 2012: Quarter system school
- STAR students will present in two poster sessions:
1. UW Summer Research Poster Session: Wednesday, August 15, 2012
2. STAR Program Poster Session: Tuesday, August 14, 2012 (TENTATIVE)
