The Nathan Schnaper Intern Program in Translational Cancer Research (NSIP) is a 10-week summer internship for undergraduate students interested in cancer research. The program provides integrated research, educational and clinical experiences that emphasize the translation of laboratory discoveries into clinical applications and inspire the next generation of cancer researchers and physician-scientists.
Students are matched up with a lab on the UMB med campus and are exposed to first-hand translational cancer research, clinical shadowing, and current cancer therapies. There are a lot of other opportunities at the med campus to discuss grad school programs, MD programs, and MD-PhD programs. Students are trained on a variety of laboratory techniques during the first week of the internship at Loyola University, so no previous lab experience is necessary.
Benefits include:
- Interns receive a subsistence allowance of $4,000 for the 10-week internship.
- Apartment-style dormitory housing is available at Loyola University Maryland.
- A travel allowance of up to $500 is provided for round trip travel to Baltimore.
Application Deadline: FEB 15, 2018
