The Writing Center

The Writing Center provides free tutoring in writing to all UMBC students. We can work with you on various writing assignments  at any point! Need to brainstorm some ideas? Are you working on a creative writing assignment? A lab report? Schedule your appointment today! Please note: Our Writing Center believes in 'students' right to their own language' put forth by the Conference on College Composition and Communication.

Writing Center Tutoring will continue to be scheduled online using TracCloud.  Here are theinstructions for scheduling tutoring appointments through the Writing Center. Please be aware that appointment times are Eastern Standard Time.  

Online appointments are available, either synchronously or asynchronously. Once an appointment is scheduled, you will receive an email from our online scheduling system with further instructions. For asynchronous appointments, tutors will email students with instructions about how to share their writing assignment before the scheduled time. The tutor will review the paper, then return the paper via the method agreed upon by the end of the appointment time.
