Prison is a topic that is often
avoided in academic settings, but in the United States it is a system
with serious impacts from the micro- to the macro-level. The goal of
this discussion is to bring together the UMBC community and Baltimore
area experts, activists, and lawmakers to talk about the effects of this
dangerously violent and oppressive system on individuals, families and
communities.
