William H. "Billy" Murphy, Jr. has been repeatedly recognized and honored as one of the greatest trial lawyers in the nation and in Maryland history. He has been deeply involved in the civil rights and progressive movement since he was 14, the women's rights movement since 1967, the movement to increase the fairness of the criminal justice system and to end police misconduct since 1970, and the movement for fair treatment of Latino and Hispanic immigrants since 2007. He will address us about the role men should play in advancing the women's movement and the social and political implications of the Freddie Gray case and the recent devastating Department of Justice report on policing in Baltimore City.
