Dear Colleagues,
UMBC will be closed from midnight Sunday, January 25, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2026, due to inclement weather. All in-person and remote (synchronous) classes will resume on Tuesday, January 27, at noon, unless further closings or delays are announced. Instructors are asked to be flexible on Tuesday as some students may still be returning due to weather conditions in their areas. Asynchronous online classes will occur as scheduled.
Residential students will receive specific instructions from the Office of Residential Life via email about move-in.
Essential personnel should report to campus as scheduled. Please review the Inclement Weather and Emergency Closing Guide to learn more about employee leave during closures. Please communicate with your immediate supervisor if you have any questions about whether to come to campus or if you need alternative accommodations due to weather conditions in your local area.
Sincerely,
Manfred H. M. van Dulmen
Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
