Mid-Semester Resources for Support
It's okay to ask for help
Dear Students,
We hope you had a restorative fall recess! It is hard to believe we are at the mid-point of the semester. Around this time, we hear from some students that they experience a “mid-semester slump.” Worrying about grades and course load or a lack of motivation and engagement is normal, but remember, if you are feeling overwhelmed or stressed, it is more than okay to ask for help. There are resources available to support you.
Success and wellbeing
We encourage you to utilize the health and wellness resources available.
-
Retriever Care and Retriever Essential Needs and Connections: If you are concerned about yourself or about someone else or are in need of food or other basic needs support.
-
The Mosaic Center, The Pride Center, as well as the Center for Religion, Spirituality, and Pluralism also serve as supportive spaces with resources for students.
-
If you just need a break, drop by the Retriever Activities Center, attend an event, take a walk outside, and talk with friends.
-
If you aren't sure where to turn, visit the Dean of Students’ office in The Center for Well-Being (Room 102) or email deanofstudents@umbc.edu.
