Center for Democracy and Civic Life Director David Hoffman Interviewed for WJZ TV’s Election Day Coverage
David Hoffman, Ph.D. ‘13, director of the Center for Democracy and Civic Life, was interviewed on WJZ TV’s 6 p.m. newscast, part of the station’s November 3 election day coverage. The segment focused on the increase in young voters, including students at UMBC.
“More students than ever before have seen that public policy makes a difference in their lives,” Dr. Hoffman said. “I think for a lot of students who are members of immigrant families, there's been a lot of talk about the relationship between public policy and their quality of life. I know aside from participating directly in the election, I encounter a lot of students who are really thinking about the issues that they want to make contributions to and the things that are going to make a difference for them.”
