Join the Office of Disability Access and Resources (DAAR) as we celebrate, learn, and uplift disability identity across campus.
Events will take place throughout the month on the highlighted dates, with some hosted by DAAR and others hosted by our campus partners and departments across UMBC. From meaningful conversations to community-building activities, these events are an opportunity to learn, connect, and honor the diverse experiences within our UMBC community.
- 10/2: It's National Disability Employment Awareness Month! Finish Strong Friday: WRP Application Support. Join the Career Center and DAAR for a drop-in session to ask questions, start or polish your federal WRP application, and prepare for the 10/4 deadline. (Virtual, 12–1 PM)

Keep learning throughout October! ADA 101 Professional Development Challenge: All Faculty & Staff
Complete two self-paced online training modules to learn about the ADA and accommodations for people with disabilities.
Visit UMBC’s training page and log in to Vector Solutions (Employees) using your UMBC SSO credentials. Select View Library under Extra Training, then complete:

Americans with Disabilities Act Overview (33 minutes): Find this module under Human Resources.

Accommodating People with Disabilities (45 minutes): Return to the main View Library menu and select Campus Prevention Network to find this module.
Your completed training will be recorded in your employee training library. Share your professional development with your supervisor during PMPs and annual reviews!
