Friday, February 15, 2013 · 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
For All the World to Hear: Stories from the Struggle for Civil Rights (a companion piece to For All the World to See) is a dynamic humanities project in which approximately a dozen senior citizens from the Baltimore area will tell, write, perform and digitally publish personal stories about their involvement with the struggle for civil rights. A community outreach program of UMBC’s Center for Art Design and Visual Culture, the project brings diverse seniors together for a series of oral history interviews under the guidance of oral historian and producer/artistic director of Heritage Theatre Artists’ Consortium, Harriet Lynn. This performance is part of the exhibition’s four month tour, November 2012 – Feburary 2013, performing at venues including museums, libraries, parks and college campuses.
Admission to this event is free.
