SHOULD OLD ACQUAINTANCE BE FORGOT: Employing the Editor to Take Out the Trash, with Rahne Alexander
A free workshop!
Join writer and performance artist and UMBC alum Rahne Alexander for this workshop focused on writing, editing and performance!
Rahne Alexander will guide participants through a creative exercise in reflection, release, and self-kindness. Each participant will use a new sketchbook and markers to explore ideas, set aside pages to let go of, and wrap their notebook as a gift to themselves. The workshop will conclude with a “cup of kindness”—a celebratory toast with sparkling cider—and a collective ritual of destroying the discarded pages, offering participants a playful, tactile way to mark a fresh start and take home a personalized reminder of the experience.
Rahne Alexander, M.F.A. ’21, intermedia and digital arts, is a creative polymath: intermedia artist, musician, writer, event producer. Formerly the front woman of The Degenerettes and Santa Librada, she now kicks out her trans/queer jams in 50’♀ & the Worms. A fixture of the Baltimore LGBTQ and arts scenes, Alexander is a Baker Artist Award winner, a periodical contributor to publications like BmoreArt and UMBC Magazine, and a sought-after conversation partner for artists and authors at Red Emma’s, Greedy Reads, Atomic Books and more.
Admission is free, but space is limited. Please r.s.v.p. here if you plan to attend.
