The UMBC Department of Education Research Seminar continues in Spring 2025 with a presentation by Professor Shannon Sauro. Her talk reports on the findings of a scoping review of research on fans of Korean popular media (e.g. K-pop, K-dramas) to explore what fan practices they engage in to learn Korean language and culture in the digital wilds.
All members of the department, partners/collaborators, and students/faculty from other departments and institutions are invited to attend. Lunch will be provided by the department.
