Change Makers Dinner Fall 2024
Change Makers Dinner is an opportunity to join members of the UMBC community in a conversation with local leaders who are addressing an important issue affecting the Baltimore region. Previous Change Makers Dinners have focused on topics ranging from environmental justice to voting rights to food justice and access. The Center for Democracy and Civic Life will provide a free catered dinner. This program is open to all members of the UMBC community: undergraduate and graduate students, staff, faculty, and alumni.
At Change Makers Dinner, you’ll participate in a small group discussion with other UMBC community members and a local leader about an issue affecting our campus and local communities. Students, faculty, staff, and alumni who have participated in Change Makers Dinners report that they learned substantial information to help them advance social change and engaged in respectful and generative discussion. As one participant reflected, “What a great way to bring community together.”
We will share the fall 2024 Change Makers Dinner RSVP form, location, program topic, and the full list of participating local leaders in the coming weeks. Sign up to be notified when we share this information.
