The Personal is Political: How Identity and Politics Collide
Dinner, conversation, connection, and building a better worl
Join us for a dialogue and community building on October 5, 2026, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. in University Center 312, where we will explore the relationship between social identity and political engagement. In a world where we are often called to separate the two, we will explore how identity and politics have been linked in our own stories, how they have been embedded within each other throughout history, and what we can do to navigate the two in our quest to build a brighter future together. A catered dinner will be provided.
During the program, we will walk through a few different explorations:

Who are we, and how do our own identities matter for how we can, should, or do already participate in social and political change?

What does it look like to engage in changemaking while honoring our diverse backgrounds and experiences?

And what commitments can we make to ourselves and each other to honor identity as an inextricable part of collective change?
