Exploring Civic Courage in Student Affairs
Tuesday, November 12, 2019 · 11 AM - 12:30 PM
Participants will learn how Student Affairs professionals can practice
civic courage and support students in doing so. The Civic Learning and
Democratic Engagement (CLDE) Theory of Change identifies civic
courage as one of the capacities that can serve as a guide for higher
education in preparing students for lives of active, engaged citizenship.
Attendees will be introduced to the Civic Courage Reflection Tool,
developed by the session’s facilitators with colleagues from Kent State
University and Grand Valley State University. The workshop is supported
through a Multi-Institutional Innovation Grant from Bringing Theory to
Practice. Lunch will be served.
