Today (February 16) and tomorrow (February 17) are UMBC’s Giving Day, when students, faculty, staff, alumni, family, and friends of UMBC pull together to support the programs that are helping students get the support they need to thrive. This year, the Center for Democracy and Civic Life and other Division of Student Affairs departments are prioritizing our Retriever Essentials food pantry and Stay Black and Gold emergency fund. Both initiatives are supporting hundreds of students by reducing food insecurity and providing short-term financial assistance for those who find it difficult or impossible to continue their education due to an emergency or sudden unforeseen circumstances.
Please consider making a donation in any amount to these and other initiatives at UMBC, and encourage your friends and family to do the same. Click here to donate to either Retriever Essentials or the Stay Black and Gold fund.
If you would like to support students’ participation in Alternative Spring Break, STRiVE, and other Center for Democracy and Civic Life initiatives including voter engagement, you can do so here.
