The Center for Democracy and Civic Life is looking for undergraduate and graduate students to join our team as summer 2025 interns. Interns support the Center's programs and initiatives, working collaboratively with other members of the staff. Interns work 5-15 hours per week. All intern positions pay $15.00/hour. Internships will begin in early June 2025 and conclude in late August 2025.
The internships available for 2025-2026 are:
Evaluation intern (undergraduate and graduate students): Evaluation interns support the Center for Democracy and Civic Life's assessment, evaluation, and research projects; investigate topics related to Center for Democracy and Civic Life programs; and support the Center’s contributions to national higher education initiatives.
Summer orientation intern (undergraduate and graduate students): Summer orientation interns support the Center for Democracy and Civic Life’s sessions during UMBC’s first-year orientation. Interns play a central role in facilitating the sessions as well as managing session materials (e.g. counting and distributing worksheets; transporting materials across campus) and helping with set-up and clean-up.
Program intern (undergraduate and graduate students): Program interns support the Center for Democracy and Civic Life in planning and preparing for summer and fall programs. Interns play a central role in preparing, ordering, and managing materials, supporting promotional efforts, and coordinating activities.
All undergraduate and graduate students with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA are invited to apply.
