Seven years ago today, UMBC announced the launch of the Center for Democracy and Civic Life. Then as now, we were in a critical national moment full of division and uncertainty. The Center for Democracy and Civic Life became a meeting ground for members of the UMBC community and local and national partners who have been working to build an empowering and inclusive campus, state, nation, and world.
We are deeply grateful for the students, staff, faculty, alumni, and friends who have collaborated with and inspired us. Thank you for being part of our story. Let’s keep writing it together.
