Congratulations to the Class of 2022! And to all other students, congratulations for making it through the 2021-2022 academic year - it's a huge accomplishment. Here's a quick reminder of a few things that you'll need to keep in mind throughout the summer:
-Grades will be released by June 2, which is next Thursday. Your transcript and GPA will be updated by June 8. If you are unsure about passing a class that is a prerequisite for another class you've signed up for in the summer or fall, you'll need to speak with your advisor about your options. If you do not pass a course (with a C or better if required for major) for the second time, you will need to go through the Third Attempt Petition process. Read about that here: https://academicsuccess.umbc.edu/course-repeat-petitions/
-It's a good time to update or create your resume! If you're not sure where to start, check out the Career Center's website: https://careers.umbc.edu/aboutus/appointments/. Don't forget: to get your resume onto myUMBC Works, you'll have to have it approved by the Career Center!
-Get your textbooks EARLY for next semester and skim through them to prepare! You can also use video resources on YouTube to get ready for the fall.
-Think outside the classroom and get active in your community! You can shadow a health professional, participate in service, or find another creative way to grow your skill set in preparation for entering into the workforce. The community is also a great place to find mentors!
-Have a great summer! Relax and enjoy yourself so that you can come back stronger and ready to tackle whatever the fall semester may hold.
