Re-Writing History: Finding Balance in the Need to Control or Release a Vital Weapon

What will be discussed?

• Cryptography
• Recent events such as the Snowden disclosures and FBI opposition
  to additional privacy-enhancing capabilities in mobile technologies have caused concerns to resurface regarding the role of government in the use, misuse, and/or control of cryptography. Beginning with a brief
  exploration of the history of cryptography and past efforts that shaped
  this debate, this lecture will focus on the ways modern uses and
  applications either support or undermine national defense, privacy and
  ultimately freedom.

• Over 15 years of professional experience in Information Assurance (IA).
• began her career as an Engineer and Scientist with Lockheed Martin
  Naval Electronics and Surveillance Systems-Undersea Systems
  (NE&SS-Undersea Systems)
• Faculty member of the National Defense University, iCollege

  technology management and secure information dominance within

Drop off back to UMBC	to UMBC Lot 4 outside the Yum Shop	7:30pm

• Everyone must bring a form of ID, Your UMBC Red Card is fine.
• You Must be registered on Professional site Here

If you are a Foreign National (non-citizen)

Parsons is a secure building and they require non citizens to
register in advance so they can clear you . That registration time has closed and you will not be let into the building.
