The Personal is Political: How Identity and Politics Collide

Political and social issues often show up in our closest relationships—with family, friends, classmates, coworkers, and partners. This conversation would explore what happens when political beliefs intersect with identity, personal values, lived experiences, and relationships, particularly when the issue being debated directly affects you or someone you care about.

This is event is part of Critical Social Justice(CSJ) , a campus-wide initiative dedicated to deepening our collective understanding of equity, inclusion, and community care. Through panels, workshops, and creative programming, CSJ Week invites students, staff, and faculty to engage in meaningful conversations about justice and belonging within and beyond the university. This years theme is "the personal is political" highlighting the ways that we can be both part of the problem and part of the solution to healing our unjust society.
