The UMBC School of Education Research Seminar continues in the fall semester with a talk by Dr. Kerri Kephart, associate director of the UMBC Faculty Development Center. Dr. Kephart will share a non-hierarchical, multi-domain framework for describing reflection that, unlike most approaches to analyzing reflection in the literature, does not assume that learners progress through stages of development as they learn to reflect. This framework, developed with UMBC colleagues Maria Sanchez (CoEIT) and Andrea Kleinsmith (IS) as a tool for analysis, is also intended to be applied to prompt design, rubric building, writing learning outcomes, and program evaluation.
All members of the department, partners/collaborators, and students/faculty from other departments and institutions are invited to attend. Lunch will be provided by the department. Please RSVP by completing this form as soon as possible:https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScUvj7D7ma1duQSFB6Hq1VS8cuHtY4rfpW2Id8VpWPD6RoxtA/viewform?usp=header
