We are delighted to announce the launch of our new Transfer Central Portal. Transfer Central is a comprehensive, interactive and customized resource for prospective transfer students. Transfer Central features include:
A step-by-step guide for pursuing the many opportunities for study at UMBC including transfer-specific information regarding admissions, financial aid, scholarship, housing, and more.
Leveraging our transfer credit rules, a simple, interactive transfer credit estimator that provides prospective students with immediate feedback (in the form of a comprehensive report) regarding the transferability of their coursework.
For courses not currently articulated by UMBC, an easy ability to request an evaluation of a course.
Leveraging our degree audit system and rules, a preliminary assessment of the prospective student’s degree completion for their intended major.
Recommendations for best-fit majors based on similar academic interests.
Detailed program descriptions and relevant career data (i.e. related careers, salary ranges, etc.).
Additionally (and perhaps most important), Transfer Central is a platform for engagement. Through the portal, prospective transfer students have direct access to a transfer admissions representative who can address their questions or connect them with the appropriate campus resources. And, vice versa, our admissions team can connect with prospective transfer students and provide them with timely and highly personalized information including campus visit opportunities, application deadline reminders, and more.
