Internal Funding: START FY23, SURFF Summer 2022
Dear Colleagues,
The Office of the Vice President for Research is pleased to announce that we will again be able to offer the START and SURFF seed funding programs for the 2022-2023 academic year and Summer 2022, respectively:
- Supports full-time, PI-eligible members of the UMBC faculty to advance their scholarly and research endeavors, to compete more effectively for external support and to pursue new areas of inquiry.
- Members of the faculty who have received prior START support are ineligible to apply for three years after the end date of the prior grant.
- Award Size: up to $25,000
- Deadline: February 18, 2022
- Supports non-tenured, tenure-track UMBC faculty pursuing research and scholarly projects during the summer, including projects in all departments. Priority will be given to faculty members who have not previously received SURFF/SFF funding.
- Award Size: up to $6,000
- Deadline: February 11, 2022
