Congratulations to the Query Based Update (QUBU) Graduate Admissions group project team for being selected for the Fall 2021 Job Well Done Award!
The Query Based Update (QUBU) Graduate Admissions project team implemented the QUBU system to upgrade the old file transfer process of data downloads and data conversion from graduate applications to the PeopleSoft system. The benefits of the new system allow a seamless data stream both from the Graduate School’s admissions software into PeopleSoft SA, and back into the admissions software system for secure communications with our applicants on the status of their application and their admission decision.
The Graduate School partnered with the Division of Information Technology to become the first unit to take on the implementation. Jill Barr, Associate Vice Provost, says, “We knew that our entire admissions software system and end user experience would be much better with the adoption of the QUBU system, so we undertook the conversion last fall, not quite knowing just how big the task would become. The commitment level of team members to ensure the success of this project involved countless hours, trial and error, and significant partnership building. The successful implementation in our area will help lead the way for the additional departments.”
The members of the QUBU project are: Dan Neeley, Dondre Hatef, Mona Ahmad, Arnold Foelster, Teresa April Michel, Mike Suica, and K. Jill Barr.
